For the first time ever ELSA Malta organised its first ever summer law school on Maritime Law, which took place from the 23rd to the 29th of August 2015 at the University of Malta. Over the years, our Islands’ have established themselves as a major maritime centre due to their strategic position and other factors that have contributed to achieve this status.
The Maltese initiative at the 1967 UN General Assembly that resulted in the adoption of the 1982 United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea and the local establishment of the International Maritime Law Institute under the auspices of the United Nation’s International Maritime Organisation are the pinnacle of this success.
The development and growth of Maritime Law in Malta make it the ideal base for your education in this interesting legal field. ELSA Malta has partnered up with IMLI and the University of Malta to bring you a high quality week-long academic programme delivered by experts in the field.
Attendees from all over Europe will also benefit from the unforgettable experience that is summer in Malta, through a social programme that will show you the very best of historical sites, scenic beauty, bright blue seas and, of course, unbeatable nightlife.
